How to Maintain the Optical Lenses of a Laser Cutting Machine

　　Cleaning the lenses requires that operators of laser welding machines or designated maintenance personnel meticulously follow the following maintenance procedures to ensure proper lens cleaning. The specific operational steps are as follows:

　　Step 1: Put on a mask and rubber gloves (you can also wear finger cots on your fingers), then choose a dust‑free location to clean the lenses.

　　Step 2: Take a flat lens cleaning wipe and cut it in half. Apply a small drop of 99.5% pure alcohol to the middle portion of one half (since lens cleaning wipes have a certain filtering effect, use the lower surface of the wipe when cleaning the lens). As shown in Figure 1.

　　Step 3: When picking up the lens with your fingertips to wipe it, make sure your fingertips do not rise above the top surface of the lens, as shown in Figure 2.

　　Step 4: Place the alcohol‑soaked portion of the lens cleaning paper onto the lens surface. First, gently pull the paper back and forth in small motions to ensure it adheres completely to the lens and loosens any contaminants on the lens. Then, carefully pull the paper in one consistent direction, as shown in Figure 3. During this process, since the rest of the lens cleaning paper is free of alcohol, it can absorb any excess alcohol from the lens surface—be sure to avoid leaving any residual alcohol on the lens, as this could lead to alcohol stains.

　　Step 5: Pick up the lens and hold it up against a bright light source, then inspect the lens from below to check whether it has been wiped clean. If it is not completely clean, replace it with a new lens cleaning cloth and repeat the above steps (lens cleaning cloths must not be reused).
